Fecha: 06 de Julio 2021 - 13:00 - 14:15 BST
A webinar presented by the IBA Women Lawyers’ Interest Group and the IBA African Regional Forum Lockdowns in response to the Covid-19 pandemic have resulted in an unprecedented impact on the economic and social lives of millions of women around the world. In developing countries, small and medium sized enterprises account for 90 per cent of businesses, most of which operate in the informal sector. Women make up the majority of the informal sector in South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and in Latin America and the Caribbean. In the domestic sphere, reports of horrifying spikes in domestic violence and abuse towards women and children around the world have increased. This webinar will facilitate discussion among women lawyers from around the world, who will share insights, lessons and innovative ideas on the role women lawyers can play to facilitate access to justice and to provide women in society with the tools and skills they need to recover their economic capability and plan for a sustainable future.
